The Carrot Club & Find Your Stride

This Fall Lovelane is excited to offer two new social skill building programs: The Carrot Club (ages 3-5) and Find Your Stride (ages 17+). These groups will be facilitated by Kristin Chisum, a speech-language pathologist (SLP) who a specializes in social cognition. Kristin has also been a therapeutic riding instructor at Lovelane for over 20 years.

The primary focus of these groups will be to increase social awareness, while developing strategies for successful social interactions. Social cognition foundation skills include turn-talking, topic maintenance, eye-contact, and body language for both play and conversational skills. Kristin will utilize our horses to model key social cues to set the scene for positive peer interactions which supports social language development as well as building self-esteem and confidence.
